Never ascend before April. Snow and ice are still too high there. Not feasible without suitable hiking shoes. For the sneaker tourist there can be life-threatening passages. No climbing skills are required, but there are places that are tough and require a lot of physical effort. Via ferrata is not on the route, but a few ladders and stairs.

  • A dream of a summit. The view is definitely worth the climb.

  • Unfortunately, it's more than a difficult hike.
Grade the last climb to the
    both peaks are tough.
Whereby the ascent is not the problem. Anyone who makes a gross mistake while descending is death. It wasn't until July of this year that someone had another fatal accident.
The rock is very brittle and it is very gravelly even on steep terrain.
So be careful where you reach and step. Slipping or stumbling can end 200m further down.
Because it is a relatively easy mountain, many have already lost their lives there. In my opinion, a helmet is compulsory.
It will be more difficult to get up in the future than easier.

  • One of the "simple" 2000s.
But please never underestimate your own condition and constitution!
A few smaller scrambling are included, a bit more from the Säulinghaus.
If you don't trust yourself to a few exposed positions: Please don't do it either!
Otherwise: great view .... more is not necessary! 👌🏼🤩

  • Great summit with a fantastic view. The ascent is also a lot of fun with all the scrambling

  • Mega tour with a breathtaking view far beyond the Forggensee.

  • For the ascent of the Säuling sure-footedness and vertigo are required. Several tightrope secured passages with easy climbing in the maximum first degree of difficulty are to master the ascent and descent of the Säuling. In addition, there is usually busy hiking here.

  • There is a strong wind blowing up here. I always recommend having a windbreaker in my luggage.

  • Great panoramic view towards Füssen, Forggensee and the Austrian Alps. The last piece from the halfway point seen from the Säulinghaus is very steep and exposed.

  • According to legend, the summit plateau of the pillar is used by the witches as a dance floor. According to another legend, the devil personally tore off a rock from the pillar and threw it towards Roßhaupten; but when the evening ringing was heard, the stone fell straight to the ground and lay in front of the village. The monolith can still be visited today; a cross was placed in it.

  • The Säuling unfortunately only plays second fiddle in terms of popularity behind the Tegelberg in the region, which I think is a shame. On the one hand, this mountain offers a huge variety of routes between easy and tough, on the other hand the views are much more beautiful than from Tegelberg.I described one of the difficult routes to the summit on my blog: adventtour.net/post/zw%C3%B6lf-apostel-grat-pilgerschorfen

  • Almost 360 ° view
In the summit area sure-footedness and a head for heights are necessary, almost everywhere it goes steeply down.

Don't forget your entry in the summit book!
