The so-called White Synagogue in Sejny, a Polish town in the Sejneński powiat in the northeast of the Podlaskie Voivodeship, was built in 1885. The secular synagogue at Józefa Piłsudskiego Street is a protected cultural monument.

The neo-baroque synagogue was built on the initiative of Moses Becalel Luria. During the German occupation in World War II, the building was devastated and used as a fire station.

After the war it was used as a garage and warehouse. Between 1978 and 1987 the synagogue was renovated by the Pogranicze Foundation.

Exhibitions are held regularly in the former synagogue. Source: Wikipedia

In 1768, the owners of Sejny - the Dominicans - allowed Jews to settle in the city. The first synagogue, built in 1788, was made of wood. The current one was built in 1885 thanks to the efforts of Rabbi Moses Bezalel Luria. It was used for prayer purposes until World War II. The German occupiers set up a fire station there, building a tower in the south-west façade. three entrance gates for cars and building an observation tower above the facade. The Nazis also looted the synagogue's furnishings. After 1945, the building was used as a transport base and a fertilizer warehouse. A general renovation in 1978-1987 restored the synagogue's former appearance. In 1991, the facility was put into use by the Center "Borderland - arts, cultures, nations", currently it serves as a concert and exhibition hall.

The synagogue is located in the city center, on the main Piłsudskiego Street, north. from a small square at the corner of the street. Piłsudskiego and ul. Słowacki.

The facility is accessible to external visitors. Possibility of sightseeing during cultural events.
