The Scharpenacken has not been a military training area since the last Wuppertal barracks closed and is especially popular with dog owners. When the weather is good, the meadows and woods offer a view in all directions.
They are kept briefly by a flock of sheep that you sometimes see, sometimes, depending on your position, only hear.
Even the A 1, which is not too far away, is only perceived as distant noise in this area.
It can be reached from Lichtscheid and via the Marpe from the Toelleturm. There are other options from Parkstraße - there is a parking lot just behind the Blombachtal bridge on both sides.
Since an expansion of the L 419 (Parkstrasse) as an alternative route and feeder to the A1 is planned for the future, you should find out about the status of the work (currently: in planning), especially about the continued existence of the parking spaces.
