The Lethturm is a former field control center in the northern Harz foreland. It stands north of Gernrode and was once part of a complex medieval defense and early warning system. This network of watchtowers and wall and ditch systems was built around the city and the Quedlinburg Abbey.
The Leth Tower was probably built from sandstone in the 14th century and was used until the 16th century.
A beautiful (flowing) path to the Dreibogen-Brücke runs eastwards.
