Serba is a purely Sorbian foundation and looks back on over 800 years of history. The numerous three and four-sided courtyards and the manor in Klengel, which has been preserved in its original form, still bear witness to this today. In addition to agriculture, handicrafts gradually gained more and more importance. B. the stove and fireplace construction, the building and carpentry trade, as well as the butcher and bakery trade. A brisk fish trade developed due to the numerous bodies of water surrounding the place. Today village life is characterized by lively club activity, the center of which is the “Weißer Hirsch” clubhouse with its hall and bowling alley, which was renovated in 2003/2004.

There is a private railway museum in the village, as well as an inn and guesthouse "Zur Linde".

The village church of St. Michael, built in 1619, is also worth seeing.
