Trsat Castle is located on a 138 m high hill above Rijeka. The Romans already controlled the route from the interior of the country towards the sea. The shortest way out of town is via the steps of Petar Kružić.

From the plateau of Trsat Castle you have a wonderful view of the remains of the Limes on the opposite hills of Katarina and Kalvarija, as well as the entire old town of Rijeka. Trsat Castle is one of the oldest fortresses on the Croatian coast, in which the features of early medieval town planning have been preserved.
Today the Trsat Castle is enriched with new content - a gallery space with art exhibitions, summer concerts and open-air theater performances, as well as fashion shows and literary evenings.

In the castle courtyard (outdoor area) there is a beautiful café with a wonderful view over Rijeka
