Hiking
The Eiernest in Heslach, just above the Marienhospital, looks like its own little town within the city. Over several streets, you'll find small terraced houses in the same style. Many facades are plastered in a color reminiscent of brown eggshells, but the Eiernest, with its total of 176 houses, gets its name from the similarly named plot of land on the edge of the Stuttgart basin. The settlement was built from 1926 onwards as part of an emergency program for housing construction. Municipal workers and employees were to be housed there.
