The Mölsheimer Quellbach has been running along a district road in a concrete trapezoidal profile for half a century. The sewer bed showed increasing damage that could only be repaired by expensive maintenance measures. As an alternative and sustainable solution, the OG Monsbach decided to renaturate the Quellbach and move it back to its original bed in the deepest part of the valley. The areas required for this could be made available after a land consolidation process.

This new route, designed to be close to nature, should not only offer undamaged overflow, but also experience and relaxation space close to the village. In addition, management restrictions for the adjacent vineyards had to be avoided and a pond had to be set up as a near-natural resting place with a retention function. When planning a number of additional restrictions, such as numerous crossings through dirt roads, a water pipe and the crossing of sewer structures had to be taken into account.
