A lot has changed since the Baroque garden was built around 1764. The calm in a revitalized garden has remained. The Hochdorf Garden was placed under monument protection in 1979.
The Hochdorf Garden can be seen as the most important garden monument of rural garden culture in Schleswig-Holstein. In addition to the Husum palace garden and the artist garden of Ada and Emil Nolde in Seebüll, it is the most valuable North Frisian garden.
