Before setting out to explore the Pivka Lakes area, visit the Pivka Intermittent Lakes Ecomuseum, in Slovenska vas near Pivka, where you will learn how lakes are formed, how the locals live with them and get to know their inhabitants. It presents the story of water in the karst world of Zgornja Pivka.

When open! This is one of Green SLovenia's best micro museums and can tell you ALL you need to know about the phenomena of these 17 interconnected disappearing lakes in this huge almost completely unknown nature park!
