Best Mountain Biking Routes to Gailach Spring

Tips

  • The Gailach, also called Mörnsheimer Bach, actually rises near Monheim, but seeps away below Warching in a retention basin in sinkholes and only emerges after about four kilometers underground at Mühlheim. The discharge is 600 to 700 liters per second, the stream is immediately several meters wide. The source is one of the strongest in Bavaria.

  • When it rains frequently and heavily, the Gailach comes to light where it actually runs underground

  • A small footpath leads past the former mill, which brings you closer to the actual source.
There is no direct access to Quelle because it is privately owned.
