Bike Touring Highlight
Built in 1932 on the Templin lake to designs by the city architect Reinhold Mohr, the music pavilion is one of the most important original testimonies of the built in the Weimar Republic on the site of the former airship port land and water sports field. Together with the externally renovated, but since the early 1990s functionless "Regattahaus" it formed by Mohr with garden director Kölle in an impressive manner embedded in the landscape ensemble, which until the beginning of World War II one of the most popular excursion pubs in the Potsdam Environment was. The unique - instead of a concert shell - transparent, steel, glass and wood created, filigree construction of the pavilion looks like the anticipation of decades later with the Neue Nationalgalerie (1962/68) by Mies van der Rohe in Berlin perfected style.Source: potsdam.de/content/musikpavillon-0
