  • Located directly next to the Kaiser-Wilhelm Bridge. In 1888 the imperial shipyard building was built, which is now the German Navy Museum. The visit is worthwhile.

  • The museum is located in the former Scheibenhof workshop, built in 1888, one of the oldest surviving workshop buildings from the former Imperial Shipyard. This listed building is located in the Verbindungshafen, an old part of the naval port, near the Kaiser Wilhelm Bridge. In the immediate vicinity is the Südstrand-Promenade, an established leisure and tourism focus of Wilhelmshaven with the UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea Visitor Center (National Park Center) and the Wilhelmshaven Aquarium.

  • Impressive naval museum in the coastal metropolis WHV on the Jade Bay. Based on an idea of a support association consisting of Wilhelmshaven citizens and former naval officers from 1988, this German naval museum was created and opened 10 years later on April 24, 1998 in the former disc court workshop. The building was built in 1888 as part of the Imperial Shipyard's torpedo yard. The museum - supported by a private foundation since 2002 - is constantly being expanded and renewed in the following years. In 2011 it was included in the museum register of the state of Lower Saxony and received an award from the Niedersächsische Sparkassenstiftung for the scientific quality of the permanent exhibition. In 2019, the Museum Association of Lower Saxony and Bremen e. V. The museum has been in a phase of expansion and redesign since 2018, which is scheduled to be completed in 2027. It celebrated its 25th anniversary this year (2023).
