Here you can find a castle ruin and a beer garden with guest house. The summit of the big Waldstein is not accessible by MTB.

In the Waldsteinhaus there is good Franconian cuisine and invites you with his beer garden for a break

The Waldstein can be easily reached by bike. If you are on the tower you have a great view over the Fichtelgebirge (Schneeberg - Ochsenkopf - Kösseine)

The Waldsteinhaus is a beautiful inn on the Waldstein with a cozy beer garden in front of the Waldstein stage and in a rocky landscape. The menu changes weekly, mostly regional and hearty offer. You can also stay here. There are numerous hiking trails at the Waldsteinhaus, a beautiful circular route, making it an excellent starting point for hikes or a nice stop on the tour. There is also a hiking car park a little further down.
Opening times: Wednesday - Saturday from 10:00 am to hut rest - kitchen until 8:00 pm
Sundays and public holidays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays and Tuesdays closed

The Waldstein is a great destination. To stay and in the local inn "Waldsteinhaus" to strengthen or to start. A large parking lot is also available there.

The Waldstein was discovered around 1800 as a recreational area. He was popular to look from the heights at home, to think and to play theater.

Arriving at the big Waldstein, you can make yourself comfortable on a few rocks or climb straight up to the tower. Once at the top, you have a fantastic view over the Fichtelgebirge in all directions.

The path up to the viewing rock called "Schuessel", on which a covered pavilion stands, leads through the former castle chapel.
