Archduke Johann Baptist Josef Fabian Sebastian[1] of Austria (* 20 January 1782 in Florence; † 11 May[2] 1859 in Graz) was a member of the House of Habsburg, brother of Emperor Franz I, Austrian field marshal and German imperial regent during the revolutionary period of 1848/1849. In the Duchy of Styria he was a promoter and modernizer of industry, agriculture and railways as well as in the cultural and educational sectors for half a century.
