Tips

  • From here you have a beautiful view of the Queen Alexandrine Bridge, which connects the islands of Møn and Sjælland. Incidentally, the bridge has been Denmark's most beautiful bridge since its opening in 1943. No wonder that it is also shown on the 500-crown note.

  • The Queen Alexandrine Bridge, also known as the Møn Bridge or Ulvsund Bridge, is a 745.50-meter-long bridge that spans the Ulvsund Sound and connects the Danish islands of Møn and Zealand. Named after the Danish Queen Alexandrine, it was opened in 1943 and has since been considered "Denmark's most beautiful bridge." The two-lane road bridge carries the Primærrute 59 highway, which carries around 5,500 vehicles daily. The bridge was designed by Anker Engelund, a civil engineer, professor, and rector of Copenhagen Polytechnic from 1941 to 1959. He created a classic arch bridge, the superstructure of which is supported by a large steel arch in the center and ten iron arches located below the roadway. travel.sygic.com/de/poi/dronning-alexandrines-bro-poi:20469804
