Cappel has been one of 19 towns in the city of Blomberg in the Lippe district in North Rhine-Westphalia since 1970. Cappel is located about 8 km west of the city center of Blomberg. In Cappel there are 638 inhabitants on an area of 2.81 km², which corresponds to a population density of 227 inhabitants / km². The current mayor is Dietmar Albrecht (as of December 18, 2008). In addition to the church, the center of the village is the old village school, which was converted in 1992 and serves as a meeting place for the associations. The "Lockfest" takes place every year and always attracts many visitors in summer, who then enjoy the sounds of well-known music titles. Recurring events also include May singing by the men's choir, sports festival, boss tournament and a Christmas market. In addition, there is the village championship in Kniffel and Dart, which is organized by the Ziegler and Crafts Club Cappel-Mossenberg-Wöhren. [
