The Rose Obel Tower once formed the northernmost corner pillar of the inner fortification line of the imperial city of Überlingen. In the middle of the 17th century, the Rosendobeltum was expanded into a mighty bastion. Today the bulwark welcomes all visitors to the historic old town who arrive at the Überlingen train station or the bus station.
