Hiking

Ribe train station is on the route between Bramming and Tønder. On April 30, 1875, the line between Bramming and Ribe was opened. At that time Ribe is the southernmost point of Denmark with the border with Germany south of Hviding.
The line from Ribe to the south was inaugurated on November 15, 1887.
By 1920 the line crossed the Danish-German border at Vedsted / Hviding. The German Hviding station and the Danish Vedsted station had a common station building.
Today trains run between Esbjerg and Tønder on the route. The train operation is taken over by Arriva.
