Blea Rigg’s fine, craggy, pointed summit rises in an enviable position between Great Langdale to the south and picturesque Easedale Tarn to the north. It is a proud upthrust, an obvious highpoint on High Raise’s long southeastern limb, which stretches for several miles from the charismatic perch of Sergeant Man, all the way down to Grasmere and Loughrigg.
Set in amongst some of the most popular fells in Lakeland, there are many permutations for adventures to Blea Rigg. It can be easily linked with the Langdale Pikes, especially the superb Pavey Ark above Stickle Tarn. Blea Rigg’s most striking feature, Blea Crag, is seen beautifully from Easedale Tarn or from the summit of Tarn Crag.
Blea Rigg’s rocky summit contains many outcrops and little tarns. The panorama is splendid, particularly towards the Langdale Pikes, however the Scafells and the high mountains of the western fells are conspicuously absent from view, blocked by intervening heights.
Ascents usually begin from either Grasmere or Great Langdale; both have no shortage of accommodation options.
Blea Rigg is a Wainwright in the Central Fells of the Lake District. It's nestled between the Easedale valley and the Langdale valley and as such it can be tagged onto a hike from either Grasmere or Great Langdale. Hiking in this area is quite rough underfoot with sheep tracks heading off in multiple directions, so navigation can be a little tricky here in bad weather.

Surprisingly quite a commanding view considering the height of this Wainwright. A really good view to which inversions can be seen all the way to Coniston
