The Church of the Assumption of Mary is the parish and pilgrimage church of St. Märgen in the Black Forest. Together with the parish of St. Peter (High Black Forest), it belongs to the pastoral unit of St. Märgen-St. Peter in the Archdiocese of Freiburg. Until secularization in 1806, it was the church of the Augustinian Canons Regular of St. Märgen. Built in the Baroque style from 1715 onwards, it was rebuilt in the Neo-Baroque style after a fire in 1907.
