Gänskutte Pond and Picnic Area

The cozy and well-kept rest area with a pond biotope and a wooden hut of the Rhönklub branch in Lahrbach is surrounded by tall beech trees and is protected on the edge of the forest.

In the course of the Hessian Rhön Nature Park founded in 1967 and the associated construction of a marked hiking trail network in the Rhön with associated parking and rest areas, the 1.5-hectare Gänskutte area made available to the branch club by the then municipality of Lahrbach for its own use became a "nature park goose cowl” explained.
