Imposing gatehouse, part of the former city wall, in the immediate vicinity of the baroque castle.
October 28, 2023
The Damianstor in Bruchsal is located near the castle.
It was built in 1724-25 by the then Prince-Bishop Damian Hugo von Schönborn as part of the city fortifications. It was later expanded and used as a prison, then apartments were built.
Today, the federal highway 3 runs through the gate. The art association "Das Damianstor Bruchsal e.V." is also housed here.

The gate built by Prince Bishop Damian Hugo von Schönborn in 1724/25 was never of military importance and housed the city prison for many years. Today, the Kunstverein presents changing exhibitions of contemporary art there, see damianstor.de
