The Belvedere was originally a shooting range for the hunts and shooting festivals organized by the court in Bruchsal. This monument, which stands on the edge of the Stadtgarten and at first glance seems a bit unusual, was built in the mid-eighteenth century under Prince Bishop Hutten by his master builder Leonhard Stahl as a shooting range. The place was chosen so that you had a clear view of the castle, the city and the Rhine plain. Today, however, the "beautiful views" are somewhat limited by the surrounding buildings and lush vegetation.
