Bike Touring Highlight (Segment)
It's amazing how the heather and the forest have changed! Since my grandma and grandpa lived in Kremperheide, we walked around here as children. Of course, it was also forbidden. At that time it was still a military training area. (Much) later, when I was in the army, I had the "pleasure" of crawling around here myself. Has something to say to the comrades "change with the map and the compass, I know a shortcut". The train driver's face was wonderful and needed a little explanation :-). That was a good 20 years ago and the whole area has changed a lot, but a few foxholes on the left and right of the paths still look familiar to me.
It is definitely not an insider tip (more, was it ever?), But always nice to go for a walk or ride a bike.

That WAS an insider tip.
Unfortunately, a new building area has arisen next door and the residents have no behavior. The grazing animals that are used there for landscape maintenance are unfortunately chased through the area by dogs running freely and uneducated screeching children. Unfortunately, there is also no control whether the dog owners let their dogs run free there without a leash.
Fences are also cut by them to sabotage the whole conservation project.
Sooner or later it will end because there is no regulatory authority there and people just think of themselves and their needs ...
