The church has beautiful luminous windows. Saint James with his scallop shell can also be seen in the altarpiece.

Today's St. Antonius Church was inaugurated in 1884 and is a real eye-catcher! It is open during the day - even in winter, contrary to the sign! So just try it once. Inside it is beautifully clad in wood.

At the time it replaced a thatched, half-timbered church. The church area provides further information about this. In general, the walk around the church is worth it, as the historical process of burial in Fintel is explained in detail on display boards. Unusual but interesting.

St. Antonius Church is a simple brick building, not from a "catalogue" like many churches of the 19th century, but "self-built" by the Fintlers from 1882 to 1884.

Since 1856, the ancestors had saved up for the new building and collected donations, overcame some resistance to the building plan and gained supporters.

Inside the church there is a very special treasure: parts of various altars from the medieval predecessor church and carved wooden figures that were renovated in 1971 and significantly redesigned and combined in a folding altar.

Since 2001, St. Antonius Church has also had an organ that matches the architectural style of the church. The organ facade and the sound of the 16 registers correspond to German romantic organ building around 1870, as do the materials.

The organ is used to accompany the congregation's singing during Sunday services,

during official functions such as weddings or funerals, and several times a year at

        special concerts.
