The Obere Mühle is right at the entrance to the Siebenmühlental in Musberg. It was first mentioned in 1383 as a Mohrenmühle. Owner and namesake was a Mohr family for over 200 years. The mill has been called Obere Mühle since the 18th century.
After a fire, the mill was rebuilt as it can still be seen today. The Obere Mühle is one of the few solid tree mills and has a high hipped roof. At the beginning of the 20th century, the mill was stopped and it was used as a sawmill. In 1945 it was looted. After the Second World War, the mill was used for agriculture.
