The Swedish Column is not a great monument, but historically very interesting. Because it is reminiscent of the Rhine crossing of the Swedish King Gustav Adolf with his troops in the Thirty Years' War near Erfelden. On December 21, 1631, the Swedish troops crossed the Rhine on confiscated Rhine boats and barn gates and were able to stab the Spaniards in the back.

The Swedish column is not located directly on the island of Kühkopf, but rather in the Kühkopf-Knoblochsaue nature reserve. I find the information confusing. Maybe my information will be helpful.
