Laboe Beach

On the fine sandy beach of Laboe, at the foot of the memorial and right next to the submarine, lies Surfer's Paradise Laboe, where we combine shop and school operations under one roof. A large car park, direct beach access, a well-stocked shop with a large showroom and a chill-out area, as well as changing rooms, showers and the opportunity to wash your equipment are just some of the amenities we offer you for your time in paradise.

Tip: This hiking section is more extensive at the memorial and south of the harbor; in the promenade area, it's better to walk on the beach due to the crowds.The seawater pool has been closed since 2021.ADDENDUM (06/2025): The seawater swimming pool: History and Lost Place. Future plans & discussions:
• Renovation or new construction: Since 2021, there has been intense discussion about whether the old building should be renovated or a new building constructed – possibly on the outskirts of town. The plans often include additional sauna, school, and club use.
• "Pro Schwimmhalle Laboe" initiative: This local initiative advocates for preservation at its original location and presents designs with green roof terraces, a sauna area, a café, and barrier-free access.
• Financing: A special purpose association of various surrounding municipalities (e.g., Heikendorf, Schönkirchen, Schönberg) is being discussed to distribute costs fairly.
