The church is dedicated to Bishop Godehard (960-1036). The first church in Bad Nenndorf was closed due to dilapidation. The construction of the three-aisled gallery church began in 1849 and was completed in 1853. For the 100th anniversary it was redesigned in 1953, but in 2005 the old paintwork was used again. The church is an "open church" and can be visited daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
