The statue is a bit hidden, so you don't notice it directly while walking

The Beethoven monument in Bonn's Rheinaue commemorates the city's most famous son, the composer Ludwig van Beethoven. It is a seat sculpture by the sculptor Peter Christian Breuer. It is listed as a monument.

The seated Beethoven goes back to a design by Peter Christian Breuer for a large Beethoven monument in Berlin. Friedrich Diederich, a longtime employee of Breuer, executed the figure of Beethoven in granite. Only after Breuer's death was this sculpture completed in 1938 and erected at the Old Customs in Bonn. In 1949, however, it was removed again, and it was only in 1977 that the decision was made to present the figure again to the public. Since then it has been in the Rheinaue amusement park, a little off the sidewalk in the immediate vicinity of a tourist restaurant.
