Hiking
It traces its origins back to Saint Hildegard, canonized in 2012, whose first monastery was located on the Rubertsberg near Bingen.
As the number of nuns steadily grew, she took over the former Augustinian monastery in Eibingen in 1165.
This monastery was dissolved in 1803 as part of the secularization process, and the monastery church became the parish church, where the relics are still kept today.
The new St. Hildegard Abbey has stood on the hilltop since 1904 –
the successor to the monasteries of Rubertsberg and Eibingen.
