The church was first mentioned in 1346. After several renovations, the current building with the church tower from 1889 was created. The renaissance epitaph altar, created in 1555 by Freiberg stonemason Andreas Lorenz, was donated by the manor owner Ulrich Mordeisen, who died in 1572. The organ was built in 1775 by the Silbermann student Adam Gottfried Oehme.
