The path leads almost 91.4 kilometers along the former inner-German border, formerly known as the death strip.
Its altitude profile extends from the Oker meadows over about 1000 meters in altitude and opens up part of the approximately 1400 km long nature conservation project Green Belt Germany.
It is signposted with a green G for Grenzweg on a white background.
