      The Little Celtic Wall

        II. Celtic Wall
The 🦢berg offered its visitors natural protection with its steep slopes in the north, west and south - a protective wall only had to be built from the east.
For this purpose, two artificial walls were built 800 m apart made of wood, willow, stones and earth. You protected z. B. the Celts at their refuge on the 🦢berg. This now flattened wall was originally approx. 10 m high and up to 30 m wide.
Significant finds from archaeological excavations indicate the settlement: Celtic bowls, women's jewelry and coin-like currency. So-called "funnel pits" were found on the outskirts of the 🦢berg, which point to filled ore mining shafts from the Celtic era. 51 Celtic iron bars were excavated, which were used as raw material for further processing into tools and iron implements.
