In September 2000 the Stadsfeestzaal was almost completely destroyed by fire. The overwhelming interior that visitors are now treated to is the result of a reconstruction in the period 2004-2007.
The hall is now surrounded by about forty shops, which means that, in addition to a banquet hall, it now mainly serves as a luxury shopping center. In the central hall you will find a large bar, a chocolate shop and several shops. Shopping Stadsfeestzaal has an entrance on the Meir and one on Hopland.
