On the city wall, which encloses the school premises in the east, there is a tower that is often incorrectly interpreted as the church tower of the monastery. However, this building from 1482 is a former defense tower of the city, which since 1953 has served as the “Copernicus Observatory” for astronomy lessons at the school.
