At the end of 2003, the municipality purchased several plots of land adjacent to the Kleibos within the Green Space project. Two planting days were organized in 2004 in collaboration with the environmental, agricultural and youth council. Young and old worked together to plant the various trees and shrubs. After thinning in 2012, the forest is now easily accessible and the trees can continue to grow.
Various natural play elements are provided in the forest. From now on, children and young people can romp here to their heart's content.
The forest not only has play value, but you can also find environmental educational projects there. In addition, the applied branch wall is an ecological way to process wood waste. It looks beautiful and offers a living and breeding place for many animals such as birds, hedgehogs, etc.
The play forest is accessible via Baasrodestraat, Grote Snijdersstraat and Poelstraat.

The Wonderbos is part of the Kleibos that the Lebbeek municipal council purchased in 2019. You will find it next to the long-standing play forest between Baasrodestraat, Grote and Kleine Snijdersstraat and Poelstraat. With the purchase, the municipal council wanted to expand the play forest.
Chainsaw artist Marc Struyf went to work turning a number of fallen American oak trees into fairytale characters. The result is a lot of new play and walking options.
