The Zuid-Ravels regional forest, former experimental forest from the beginning of the 20th century, is more than worth a discovery.
In the first decades of the 20th century, the former heathland was plowed, leveled and drained through a network of canals and ditches. The intention of the government was to apply a number of new afforestation methods in order to improve wood production on the Kempen sandy soil.

Today the Wetlands are silent witnesses to an experimental period from the beginning of the 20th century.
