With the signing of the San Stefano Peace Treaty on March 3, 1878, Gebedje (now Beloslav) together with Varna, Provadia and Shumen remained in the Turkish zone. After the signing of the Treaty of Berlin on July 13, 1878, Turkish troops slowly withdrew to Varna. On August 13, 1878. with the advance of the 71st Belev Regiment and the establishment of the two battalions in a month in the village of Gebedje, the Turkish government ceased to exist. On August 18, 1878. The Belev regiment left for Varna, and before leaving they placed a large black wooden cross on Beli Bair / the Chukata area / with a height of 2.5 m above the ground.
