At the exit of Freinsheim in the Weisenheimer Straße this old round pillar stands as a kilometer stone, in the so-called Krummgewann. The mighty stone is from the 19th century. In the past we used the road from Freinsheim, today a bypass was built. Inscriptions: Bad Dürkheim 8 km, Frankenthal 15 km.

"Kilometerstein Nr. 5" dates back to the 19th century and is listed as a cultural monument. Source: gdke.rlp.de/fileadmin/gdke/Daten/landesdenkmalpflege/directory_Kulturdaenkmaeler/Bad_Duerkheim_2022_02_16_aktuell.pdf

3 sides of this round stone pillar are inscribed as follows:
Frontal to the path: The number of the stone ("5") and the unit of measurement ("kilometer").
Depending on whether you are coming FROM or TO Freinsheim, you can read the following route information: "12.3 to Frankenthal" or "7.4 to Dürkheim"

Now at least this signpost has managed to become a cultural monument. But whether it's really worth seeing is up to each individual.
