The viaduct was built to carry the Chimay railway across the Eau Blanche valley.

Hiking
The large bridge was built in 1856. It was to be operational in 1860. It has 8 arches for a length of 140 meters, 27 meters high and built by the Ballant brothers from the region. The construction cost was 3,417,726 francs at the time.
Accessible via Lompret or Virelles by taking the marked “promenade de blaimont” path.
