A bit of climbing skill is required here and you should definitely be sure-footed. It goes right through the ramparts

The basalt formed by volcanic activity is a major feature of the Gleichberge. On the surface, weathering has "broken up" the very solid and stable rock to such an extent that the boulders form so-called block heaps/block seas. In addition to the natural block heaps, there are also the remains of the ramparts from the time of Celtic settlement. The paths also lead through here, so you are completely surrounded by basalt boulders.
