Birkenlach is located south of Nuremberg in the middle of the forest of Count von Faber Castell near Pyrbaum.

The Strassmühle game reserve (red, roe deer, fallow deer and wild boar) with a beer garden and a beautiful playground is in the immediate vicinity.

Birkenlach is also the forest pedagogical base of the forest pedagogue Karin Kühnel, who serves as an event location and starting point for excursions and seminars.
