The most important building in the complex is the old gatehouse. This dates from the 16th century, but has been redesigned several times. On the outside it is adorned by nine sandstone panels arranged in the shape of a cross, which show, among other things, the coats of arms of the Rantzaus and Sehestedt, as well as the crucifixion of Christ.
