The Justinus Rock is a boulder with an ancient inscription (probably that of a Roman soldier named Justinus) here in the Aartal.

A real Roman has immortalized himself here. "Ianuarius Justinus" is probably the name of a Roman soldier who was stationed at the Limes and chopped stones here on the rocks. He engraved his name on the rock. That was over a thousand years ago. However, the red color dates from the year 2000. On the one hand, the red makes the inscription more visible, but the paint is also intended to protect against the effects of the weather.

    Cycling

The Justinus rock is a boulder with an ancient inscription in the area of Lindschied near Bad Schwalbach. It is located in the Aartal, directly on the Aartalbahn at rail kilometer 25.7.

During the time of the Roman occupation, a man named Ianuarius Iustinus immortalized himself with his name on the flat rock face. Presumably, Iustinus was a Roman auxiliary soldier (or legionnaire) who either performed guard duty at the Upper German Limes 200 m away or carried out quarry work and had marked his place of work here.
