Former chalk quarry, which is now designated as a nature reserve. Nature conquers the terrain back. Many protected plants and small animals. Small detour from bike path 9 (or Berlin-Copenhagen) on gravel roads required, but very worth seeing.

Lime and chalk were mined here until 1972 - today the area is designated as a Natura 2000 protected area by the EU. In a large water hole in the disused chalk quarry you can see protected water salamanders and pond frogs. Rare plants grow on the calcareous soil, and fossils of sea urchins, squid and sharks can be found in the soft, white chalk.
