The hollow oak stands above Elnrode on the edge of the forest. It shows a different face on each side. The MONUMENTAL trunk is very irregular and shows several openings. The completely hollow trunk shows traces of fire on the inside and is blackened with soot. On one side there are strange markings with years on the inside. At a height of 5 m, the trunk has twined itself into two stems. One of them was sawed off many years ago. The cut surface is now covered with a wooden panel. The crown is formed by the remaining stem that reaches far upwards. The crown shows only a few branches. The oak doesn't make the best impression, the vitality seems to be losing weight.Source:

Impressive old oak with a hollow trunk. In the inner area, a somewhat provisional bench has been set up, from where a view of the "outside world" is made possible.
