Anton Günther was born in a village on the ridge of the Ore Mountains. The German-Czech border runs there. His parents were at home on the Czech side, so he was a child from the Bohemian Forest. The parents lived - like almost all Bohemian Forests - from small farms. The father earned some extra money on weekends and public holidays by playing village music. Little Anton often accompanied his father and was not allowed to play the drum or a small flute.
