The bridge dates back to the time when lime was still being mined in the Düsseltal. Quarry 4 lay on both sides of the Düssel and this bridge made it possible to transport the mined limestone across the Düssel.

If you look closely you can see that the bridge looks very rotten. Actually, the tree stakes that were placed across do not really make the public ailing condition of the bridge clear. The way the substance works should create a much more effective barrier.
